Fighting Games Collection - Android Games

Fighting games are a type of action game where on-screen characters fight each other. They may be based on anything from real-life fighting styles to fantastical settings like science fiction, horror or mythology. Fighting games typically involve hand-to-hand combat, but may also feature melee weapons. This genre is distinct from beat 'em ups, another action genre with similar gameplay, where the player character must fight many weaker enemies at the same time.

It is not clear when the first fighting game was created, but the genre in its modern form first began to appear in arcades in the early 1980s. One of the earliest examples is Heavyweight Champ, a 1976 arcade boxing game developed by Atari and released under their Kee Games imprint.

Games featuring two-player competitive modes were popular in arcades during this period, allowing players to test their skills against each other. Among these early titles was Yie Ar Kung Fu (1985), a martial arts tournament-style fighting game that included elements such as multiple playable characters and special moves.

A number of 3D fighting games have been created in recent years, including Virtua Fighter and Dead or Alive. Many such games incorporate some form of combo attacks, with the player's character performing a series of punches or slashes during an attack. While single-player modes typically involve facing off against computer-controlled opponents in a series of matches, most feature versus mode where two players can compete against each other.

Most fighting Mod Apk games allow the player to execute special attacks by performing specific input combinations. The genre is related to but distinct from beat 'em ups, which involve large numbers of enemies against the human player. The first game to feature fist fighting was Heavyweight

The game is played with only two players, and each opponent can control multiple fighters. Each character has a health meter that is depleted by the successful execution of various attacks, and which must be completely emptied in order to defeat that character. Characters have a variety of unique moves, as well as special moves which use up some of their power meters. The power meter can be charged up by certain attacks, and when it's full, characters can perform a variety of enhanced special moves or a super move. Some characters have additional abilities such as air dashes or the ability to teleport behind an opponent.

The controls consist of an eight-directional joystick and six attack buttons: three for punches (light, medium, and heavy) and three for kicks (light, medium, and heavy). Other than the four shoulder buttons (two for each player), there are no other buttons on the arcade cabinet; all menus are navigated via joystick inputs. While arcade cabinets vary in the placement of these buttons, most home console controllers place them in accordance with the Six Button layout.
