Chicken Kali Mirch Recipe

Chicken Kali Mirch, also known as Black Pepper Chicken, is a delicious Indian dish that features succulent pieces of chicken cooked in a creamy black pepper sauce. Here’s a recipe for Chicken Kali Mirch:


  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish


  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it is soft and translucent.
  3. Add the ginger paste and garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
  5. Add the black pepper powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  6. Add the chicken pieces to the pan and mix well to coat with the masala. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Add the cream to the pan and mix well. Cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
