Vegetable Pakora Recipe – Crispy, Tasty & Easy!

Vegetable pakoras are a delicious Indian snack made by deep-frying a mixture of vegetables and spices in a chickpea flour batter. Here’s a recipe for crispy, tasty and easy vegetable pakoras:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • 1 cup chopped vegetables (onions, potatoes, cauliflower, spinach, etc.)
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Gradually add water to the mixture to make a smooth and thick batter. The consistency should be such that when you dip the vegetables into the batter, they are well coated.
  3. Add the chopped vegetables to the batter and mix well, making sure each piece is coated with the batter.
  4. Heat oil for deep-frying in a wok or deep pan. Test the oil by dropping a small amount of batter into the oil. If it sizzles and rises to the surface, the oil is ready for frying.
  5. Using a spoon, drop small portions of the vegetable mixture into the hot oil. Fry the pakoras until they are golden brown and crispy, turning them over occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  6. Once the pakoras are cooked, remove them from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve the hot vegetable pakoras with chutney or ketchup.

Enjoy your crispy, tasty and easy vegetable pakoras!
